Wall or screen? What a projection screen actually changes

The critic

In a truly dark room, a flat white wall and a basic screen are closer than shop pages suggest. Turn on a lamp and the gap opens: room light lifts the shadows, and a plain matte-white screen doesn't fix that, though it is flatter and more neutral than paint.

Use the toggle to see what each surface does to a dark scene, then decide if you need a screen, an ALR one, or neither.
