Knife: The Attempted Murder of Salman Rushdie
The critic
(4 out of 5)★★★★☆
A documentary built on one voice: Rushdie reading his own memoir of the 2022 stabbing, over hospital footage shot by his wife and an archive of the fatwa years. It is gripping, funny in a dark way, and a little long once it returns to the present.
Critics mostly admire it. The dissent is that it takes his side and shows little curiosity about the attacker. Four out of five.
