Romain Gavras's volcano-sacrifice satire is loud, glossy and strangely aimless: critics enjoy Anya Taylor-Joy and the look, but find the jokes at the expense of the rich thin and the target hard to pin down.
It is watchable for the cast and the atmosphere, but not for its point, and critics mostly land between mixed and negative, with a few warmer voices.
